Sliema Wanderers sign four new players, appoint new president

Sliema Wanderers signed four new players as the club tries to revamp the squad. The new signings are Nuno Jorge Nobre Barbosa Malheiro, Riki Kakinuma, Alessandro Milesi Germoni and Hugo Miguel Carambola Meira.

Twenty six year old Portuguese left back Nuno Malheiro played for Estoril Praia, Sporting Lisbon, UD Leiria, Belenenses, Coruchense, Portomosense and GD Tourizense in Portugal before a spell with Recreativo Huelva in Spain. He returned to Portugal where he played for Pedras Salgadas and Sernache, moving to Poland where he played for Zaglebie Sosnowiec. Last year, he joinedSC Espniho in Portugal.

Twenty year old midfielder Riki Kakinuma started his career at Maebashi Ikuei HS and later played for Daiichi Gakuin HS. He moved to Getafe in Spain and following a spell with RSD Alcala, he moved to Lugano in Switzerland.

Twenty-year old Peruvian central midfielder Alessandro Milesi played for Club Esther Grande de Bentin in Peru before moving to Italy to join Brescia in Italy. Later he had a spell with Sicula Leonzio and last year joined Miami FC in the USA.

Twenty four year old Portuguese central defender Hugo Meira started his career at Sporting but then played for Belenenses, Real SC, GD Tourizense, Sintrense, Peniche, Ponterrolense and Armacenenses.

The Wanderers had earlier signed Denilson and young Sebastian Grech while extending the contracts of Antonio Stelitano and Edmond Agius.

Meanwhile the club announced that further to a Committee meeting held on Wednesday, Keith Perry resigned from his post as Club President and Jeffrey Farrugia was appointed Club President. Keith Perry was appointed Chairman for Club Projects.
