Mosta scored three goals in the second half as they registered a fine 3-0 win over Birkirkara at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.
For the Blues, this was the first win after the draw with Gudja United last week while for the Stripes, this was the second defeat in as many matches.
In the first half, Birkirkara had an edge over their opponents and were unlucky not to take the lead four minutes from the end of the first half when Matthew Guillaumier hit the upright with goalkeeper Bitseki Moto beaten.
However, on the 64th minute, Mosta forged ahead when Christ Evo Ememe pounced on a through pass and although flanked by Enrico Pepe on one side and Kurt Zammit on the other, he managed to beat Hogg with an angled shot from the right.
Mosta doubled the score on the 72nd minute when off a cross from the left, Christ Evo Ememe rounded Hogg, who failed to intercept the ball, and placed the ball at the back of the net.
Five minutes from time, the Blues sealed the issue with a third goal thanks to Bojan Kaljevic who concluded a good run on the left flank with a low shot which beat the Birkirkara goalkeeper.
