A goal two minutes in stoppage time enabled Tarxien Rainbows to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Gzira United at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.

The Maroons were clearly a better side throughout the ninety minutes but apart from hitting the crossbar through Jackson Usuga Mendoza on the 23rd minute, a series of fine saves by Tarxien goalkeeper Daniel Marcio Fernandes kept them at bay until the 70th minute when they finally managed to take the lead.

Substitute Clyde Borg delivered a cross and Martin Davis beat the Tarxien goalkeeper with a diagonal shot from the right.

Gzira seemed heading towards victory but two minutes in added time, the Rainbows equalised courtesy of Vito Plut who received the ball from a header from the edge of the area and anticipated Haber with a lob.
