Birkirkara girls lose narrowly to Olimpia Cluj

FCU Olimpia Cluj of Romania came from behind to beat Birkirkara lost 2-1 in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League at the Cluj Arena in Cluj-Napoca on Tuesday.

The Stripes managed to take the lead in added time, before the end of the first half, through Alishia Sultana. However the hosts equalised eleven minutes in the second half thanks to an own goal by Yasmeen Bajada and Mihaela Ciolacu notched the winner seven minutes later.
