Melita, Attard and Mtarfa are the only teams with maximum points so far in the National Amateur League as they all registered wins on Saturday.
In Group A, Mgarr United dropped their first points as they were held in a 1-1 draw by Mellieha at the Luxol Stadium. A goal by Kyle Simiana put Mellieha ahead on the 25th minute but Jamie Lee Micallef equalised on the 34th.
Birzebbuga St. Peter’s registered a second win as they defeated Ta’ Xbiex 4-0 at the Luxol Stadium. Ryan Micallef put the Saints ahead just before half-time and one minute in the second half, Shawn Vella doubled the score. Vinicius De Souza Ferreira scored twice on the 56th and 83rd to seal the issue.
In Group B, Mtarfa registered a second win in as many matches as they beat Siggiewi 2-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Nicholas Zammit handed Mtarfa the lead on the lead on the 7th minute and although Andre Farrugia equalised on the 56th, Jurgen Gerada notched the winner on the 70th.
Mdina Knights earned their first point in a 2-2 draw with neighbours Rabat Ajax also at the Sirens Stadium. Nicolai Attard put Rabat ahead on the 8th minute but Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson equalised four minutes later. Nestor Luis Silva Canas restored the lead for the Magpies on the 22nd but Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson levelled matters on the 90th.
In Group C, Melita registered a fourth win as they beat Dingli Swallows 6-1 at the Luxol Ground. Matteo Desira Buttigieg put them ahead on the 10th minute but one minute later, Luke Galea equalised. An own goal, however, restored the lead on the 17th minute. Nigel Rizzo made it 3-1 on the 28th and Noel Omondi 4-1 three minutes from the end of the first half. Luke Mifsud converted a penalty six minutes in the second half and Rizzo added antoher six minutes from time.
In another match, Attard beat Sta. Venera Lightnings 4-0 to register their third win. Bledi Alla gave Attard a two-goal lead with goals on the 11th and 38th, Julien Iwueke increased the lead on the 52nd and Nicholas Schembri added another five minutes from time.
