Youth FA competitions to resume this weekend

The Under-17 and Under-15 Leagues organised by the Youth Football Association will resume this weekend after being halted in mid-October.

However, there were changes to the format in the different sections.

Sections A of both the Under 15 and the Under 17 Leagues will be played over two rounds and not three as originally scheduled.

Sections B and C of both the Under 15 and the Under 17 Leagues, which were due to be played over two rounds. However, the format has been changed and at the end of the first round, the top four teams will play against each other once while the bottom four teams will play against each other once.

In Groups DE1 and DE2 of the Under 15 League, at the end of the first round, the top four teams of each section will move to Section D. The direct encounters of the teams who qualify from Group DE1 and the direct encounters of those who qualify from Group DE2 will be taken into account and their point will be carried forward. The four teams from Group DE1 will play against the four teams from Group DE2 so that each team would have played once against all the teams in Section D.

With regards to the remaining teams in Groups DE1 and DE2 of the Under-15 League, the direct encounters between the teams in each of Group DE1 and Group DE2 will be taken into account and the top-placed team in each group will take part in a play-off to determine the Section E winner.

In September, the Youth FA had already decided to change the format of the group stages of the Under-15 and Under-17 Leagues by playing over just one round rather than two.

In Groups DE1 and DE2 of the Under 17 League, at the end of the first round, the top four teams of each section will move to Section D. The direct encounters of the teams who qualify from Group DE1 and the direct encounters of those who qualify from Group DE2 will be taken into account and points carried forward to Section D. The four teams from Group DE1 will play against the four teams from Group DE2 so that each team would have played once against all the teams in Section D.

The remaining teams in Groups DE1 and DE2 of the Under-17 League will move on to Section E where they would retain the points obtained in the direct encounters. The four teams from Group DE1 will play against the four teams from Group DE2 so that each team would have played once against all the teams in Section E.
