Swieqi United moved second in the BOV Challenge League, two points behind the leaders after defeating Zebbug Rangers 3-1 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday.
Ibrahim Salis put Swieqi ahead after just one minute and the same player doubled the score just before the end of the first half. Frank Temile increased the lead on the 58th with Luka Mijic scoring a consolation goal for Zebbug two minutes in added time.
In another match, Vittoriosa Stars and Qrendi shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
Iro Curmi put Vittoriosa ahead ten minutes in the second half and Michael Gatt equalised seven minutes from time.
