Hibernians take sole leadership after narrow win over Gzira

A goal by Jake Grech handed Hibernians a narrow win over Gzira United at the National Stadium on Tuesday to move on top the BOV Premier League table.

The Paolites are now one point ahead of Hamrun Spartans and Sliema Wanderers and five points ahead of fourth-placed Gzira United.

For the Maroons, this was the second consecutive defeat as they have now won just one match out of their last five matches.

Hibernians scored the all-important goal on the 35th minute when Jose Wilkson Teixeira served Jake Grech from the right and the latter beat goalkeeper Justin Haber with a fine shot from inside the area.
