Santa Lucia leave it till late to beat Sirens

Santa Lucia returned to winning ways as they scored twice in the dying minutes to beat Sirens 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday.

Three precious points for Santa Lucia which put them in the eighth place on 15 points, three ahead of Sirens.

Santa Lucia opened the score five minutes from time when Alan da Silva stole the ball off an opponent and served Adam Magri Overend who advanced and exchanged the ball on the edge of the area before hitting low past goalkeeper Miguel Montfort.

Four minutes in added time, Santa Lucia sealed the issue with second goal when in a counter-attack led by Alan da Silva, the ball reached Kieran Xuereb who released Kevin Ante Rosero on the left who slotted the ball past the Sirens goalkeeper.
