Sirens part ways with Steve D’Amato

Sirens FC announced that they had parted ways with coach Steve D’Amato.

The club said that after much consideration about the progress of the team, the club came to the conclusion that a change in the coach would be in the best interest of the team.

D’Amato had joined Sirens in summer 2019, leading the club to fourth place in its maiden season in the Premier League. They also took part for the first time in the UEFA Europa League, losing narrowly to CSKA Sofia.

The St. Paul’s Bay side are currently tenth in the BOV Premier League with four wins and three draws from eleven matches. In their last four outings, they defeated Hibernians, Gzira and Gudja, losing to Santa Lucia.

The new coach is expected to be one who has already coached some of the top Premier League clubs.
