Mosta extend positive run

Mosta extended their positive run to seven matches as an early goal paved the way for a comfortable 3-0 win over Zejtun Corinthians at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.

A win which enables the Blues to join Gzira on the 22-point mark, despite having a game in hand, six points behind leaders Sliema.

Zejtun, on the other hand, suffered the fourth defeat in five matches to stay joint-fifth from bottom.

The Blues took the lead after less than two minutes when they were awarded a penalty after Christ Evo Ememe was brought down inside the area; from the penalty spot, Clayton Failla converted.

Mosta doubled the score on the 59th minute when Kevin Tulimieri tried to send Kaljevic through, Lucas Moreira intercepted the ball but Matias Muchardi gained possession, serving Bojan Kaljevic on the right and the latter rounded Moreira before hitting low past Cassar.

Christ Evo Ememe sealed the issue with a third goal eight minutes from time with an angled shot from the right after receiving a long through pass.
