Futsal: Luxol maintain perfect start

Luxol St Andrews registered their third consecutive win as they had little difficulty to see off St George’s 11-0. On the other hand, Mellieħa confirmed their good form of late although they had to sweat hard to overcome the stiff opposition of Ta’ Xbiex. Meanwhile Qormi broke their duck as they had the better of Naxxar Lions.

Emil Andrei Raducu stole the show for Luxol as he contributed to three goals in their 11-0 win over St George’s. The latter found it difficult to absorb their opponents’ constant attacks in a match dominated by Luxol.

Mark Zammit hit the target twice while Maicon da Silva Gaiewski, Nathan Cope, Andy Mangion, Marwan Telisi, Gia Nikhasvili and an own-goal completed Luxol’s mission.

Meanwhile, the match between Valletta and Ibraġġ was not held as originally planned after the latter failed to turn up. Consequently, the Citizens were handed a walk-over.

Mellieħa won a dramatic encounter against Ta’ Xbiex Futsal, beating them by the odd goal in five. It was an evenly contested match as both set of players battled for every ball but in the end it was the Northerners who got the most important three points.

Ervin Rago, Armando Gjepali and Misa Spajic scored for Mellieħa while Glenn Bonello and Stefi Cale put their names on the scoresheet for Ta’ Xbiex.

Noel Tabone was the match winner for Qormi as he scored a last minute goal to help his team see off Naxxar Lions. It was a match full of emotions with Qormi always in front as Naxxar levelled the matters on two occasions. Herbert Spiteri scored the other goal for Qormi who managed to collect their first three points. Jean Noel Azzopardi and Isaac Delmar were on target for Naxxar.
