Hibernians move top

Hibernians moved on top the BOV Premier League table as they defeated Senglea Athletic 3-0 at the Hibernians Stadium on Saturday. This win puts Stefano Sanderra’s side one point ahead of Hamrun and Sliema but the Spartans have a game in hand.

Senglea, on the other hand, remain anchored at the bottom of the table as they continue to chase their first win after fourteen matches.

Hibs failed to impress during the first half but managed to break the deadlock on the 42nd minute when a Jurgen Degabriele effort was blocked but off the rebound, he lobbed the ball over goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.

Three minutes in the second half, Hibernians doubled the score thanks to a first time effort by Jake Grech when served on the right by Shola Shodiya.

The Paolites increased the lead on the 72nd minute when Jurgen Degabriele, served by Kristensen, controlled and hit low past goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.
