The Malta futsal squad will convene for another training stage next week, culminating in a friendly tournament also involving a shadow squad and the foreign futsal players based in Malta.
Malta futsal coach Zeljko Anicic has made some changes from the 20-strong squad for last month’s training camp. Swieqi United Futsal goalkeeper Adem Zouari has been selected to the national squad for the first time along with team-mate Michael Borg.
The experienced Luxol St Andrews trio of Mark Zammit, Marrwan Telisi and Dylan Musù have also been recalled together with experienced Valletta player George Frendo.
The training stage at the National Sport School in Pembroke gets underway on Monday with all the players and coaching staff taking a COVID-19 test in accordance with health protocols.
In line with the Malta FA’s vision for the development of futsal, this training camp – the third in four months – is an opportunity for the coaches to assess the level and form of the players while introducing more promising youngsters to the national set-up as part of their career progression.
