Mosta FC confirm Michael Mifsud signing

Mosta FC confirmed the signing of former Malta international striker Michael Mifsud.

Mifsud had joined Sirens last August but they parted ways earlier this month.

The thirty-nine year old striker started his career with Sliema Wanderers, before moving abroad to play for Kaiserslautern in Germany in summer 2001. In 2004, he joined Lillestrom in Norway but in the January 2007 transfer window, he was joined Coventry in England where he spent two-and-a-half years including a short spell on loan with Barnsley.

Mifsud had a short spell with Valletta between March and May 2010 and then in February 2011, he joined Qormi until the end of the season. The following summer, he re-joined Valletta, signing a long-term deal with the club. However his contract was terminated by mutual agreement at the end of the second year.

Mifsud signed a one-year deal with Australian A-League side Melbourne Heart in September 2013 but was released in March 2014 and joined Sliema Wanderers the following summer. He moved to Valletta in January 2016, moving to Birkirkara in summer 2018.

Earlier this week, Mosta signed Kosovo Under-21 international striker Florjan Seferaj and French forward Christopher Bibaku.
