Hamrun hope to extend lead

Leaders Hamrun Spartans could move four points clear should they beat Santa Lucia in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the National Stadium on Sunday.

The Spartans are coming from five consecutive wins to extend their positive run to ten matches.

Santa Lucia are currently seventh on 24 points. They are unbeaten in six matches with three wins and three draws.

In the first round, Hamrun defeated Santa Lucia 4-1.

Meanwhile in the first match, Mosta take on Birkirkara.

One point separate the two teams with Mosta lying in fifth place on 26 points, one ahead of Birkirkara. The Blues are coming from a 1-3 defeat to Hamrun in their last outing after a fine run of nine positive results. Birkirkara, on the other hand, are unbeaten in nine matches, being held in a goalless draw by Santa Lucia in their last game.

In the first round, Mosta defeated Birkirkara 3-0.
