Alfred Effiong joins Sirens

Sirens FC secured the services of thirty six year old striker Alfred Effiong.

Effiong played for Shooting Stars in Nigeria and then for Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia before moving to Malta to join Kercem Ajax in Gozo in 2004. He moved to St. George’s the following season and then in 2006, he joined Hamrun Spartans. In 2008, he moved to Qormi where he spent two years before joining Marsaxlokk. He spent one year with the club before moving to Valletta. In summer 2012, he signed for Gzira United but in the January 2013 transfer window, he re-joined Qormi. In summer 2015, he moved to Balzan where he spent the last six years.

After the appointment of Winston Muscat as their new coach, the club signed goalkeeper Jonathan Debono and Sacha Borg while Adrian Borg was confirmed for another year.
