Mosta, who were eager to bounce back from the 0-3 defeat to Birkirkara last week, managed to take the lead but Sirens were quick to level matters and were unlucky not to notch the winner later in the game.

Kemmu Degran Jackson replaced Ismael Borg for Sirens while Mosta had three changes as Johann Bezzina, Luis Carlos Riascos and Israel Luiz Igbineweka replaced Christ Evo Ememe, Gianluca Sciberras and Rafael Morisco.

Following a goalless first half, Mosta took the lead on the hour when Johann Bezzina entered the area from the right and hit low but his attempt was deflected and Zachary Brincat took the rebound, hitting home from close range.

Five minutes later, Sirens equalised courtesy of Kemar Reid who received an assist on the left and advanced into the area, rounding a defender, hitting low past the Mosta goalkeeper.

On the 70th, Fernando Brandan was unlucky to hit the crossbar with an effort from outside the area as he caught goalkeeper Christoffer Mafoumbi out of place. Four minutes later, Reid had an angled shot from the left blocked by Mafoumbi aided by the upright.

On the 79th minute, Mafoumbi performed a great save on a Kemar Reid header following a cross by Jacob Walker while in added time, Christ Ememe tested Sean Mintoff with a header from inside the area for Mosta.
