Hibernians will be hoping to maintain the two point lead on top the BOV Premier League with a win as they take on Valletta in one of the three matches in programme at the Tony Bezzina Stadium and the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.
In fact, in the first match at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 15:00, Santa Lucia face Sliema Wanderers.
A clash between the bottom two teams, both chasing their first win, with Santa Lucia lying two points ahead of Sliema. Santa Lucia, however, earned two points from their last two matches in draws with Hibernians (1-1) and Mosta (2-2). Sliema, on the other hand, lost two out of the last three matches, earning a point in a draw with Sirens. In their last outing, they lost 0-3 to Sliema.
For Santa Lucia, Jurgen Pisani is ruled out as he serves a one-match ban.
At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 17:00, Hibernians cross swords with Valletta.
Hibernians are unbeaten in six matches, dropping their only points in a 1-1 draw with Santa Lucia and are coming from a 3-0 win over Sliema. Valletta, on the other hand, defeated Sirens 3-1 last week to end a disappointing streak of three consecutive defeats. They currently share fourth place with Floriana, Hamrun and Gzira.
The Paolites could not count on the suspended Ferdinando Apap.
At the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 19:00, Sirens face Birkirkara.
Birkirkara will be all out to claim the three points which could mean the top spot should Hibernians fail to beat Valletta. They are currently second, two points behind the Paolites, and are still unbeaten with four wins and two draws. The Stripes defeated Gudja 2-0 in their last match. Sirens, on the other hand, are currently eighth on eight points. They earned just one point from their last two matches following a 2-2 draw with Sliema and a 1-3 defeat to Valletta.
Ryan Scicluna is ruled out through suspension for Birkirkara.
