Gzira United sign two Croatian defenders

Following the departure of captain Steve Borg, Gzira United signed two Croatian defenders – Antonio Pavic and Marko Cosic.

Former Under-21 international left back Antonio Pavic is 27 years old. He was born in Germany but started his career at NK Osijek. He later played for FC Koper in Slovenia, NK Istra in Croatia, Zeljeznicar in Bosnia-Herzegovina and KF Shkendija in North Macedonia.

On the other hand, twenty seven year old Marko Cosic started his career at NK Inter Zapresic and later played for Hajduk Split, FK Haugesund in Norway, NK Rudar Velenje in Slovenia and Hapoel Afula in Israel before returning to Croatia to play for NK Rudes and HRV Dragovoljac.

The Maroons had signed another Croatian player – goalkeeper Darijan Radelic Zarkov in November.

Meanwhile apart from Steve Borg, the club also released Justin Haber who joined Santa Lucia.
