Birzebbuga St. Peter’s defeated Ta’ Xbiex 4-0 in a match from Group A of the BOV National Amateur League at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Thursday. A win which enables them to move joint-third with Kalkara United.
Alan Tabone converted a penalty on the 7th minute to put Birzebbuga ahead. Joshua Farrugia doubled the score on the 67th and late in the game, Kurt Drakard increased the lead on the 87th and Kenneth Ekezie added another two minutes in added time.
Attard lead the way with 29 points, followed by Gharghur on 27, Birzebbuga and Kalkara 23, Msida 22, Xghajra 18, Ghaxaq and Dingli 11, Siggiewi and Ta’ Xbiex 10. Attard had nine points deducted.
