Birkirkara dropped two important points in their bid to keep the pace with Floriana and Hibernians as they were held in a goalless draw by bottom-placed Sliema Wanderers at the National Stadium on Sunday.
This was therefore another disappointing result for the Stripes after losing to Santa Lucia last week.
The Wanderers had goalkeeper Rashed Al Tumi making his debut and the former Casarano, Arzachena and Nocerina goalkeeper came to the rescue on several occasions to keep Birkirkara at bay.
