BOV Premier League final round gets underway

The final round of the BOV Premier League gets underway on Saturday with a match from the Play-Out as Sirens take on Valletta at the National Stadium, kick-off at 18:00.

After finishing seventh in the first phase, Sirens start their commitments on top the Play-Out Final Round table with 27 points, one ahead of Valletta with Mosta lying in third place on 25, Balzan 23, Santa Lucia 22 and Sliema 12. Therefore both Sirens and Valletta seek a winning start in their bid to secure their Premier League status.

Sirens seemed on track to secure a top six finish but failing to win in their last five matches led them to miss out. They earned points in draws with Birkirkara and Hamrun but suffered defeats to Balzan, Floriana and Gzira.

Valletta, on the other hand, defeated Sliema and earned points in draws with Mosta and Birkirkara in their last three outings.

Valletta’s Jean Borg and Sirens captain Adrian Borg are ruled out through suspension.

In the first round, Valletta defeated Sirens 3-1 but Sirens registered a 2-1 win in the second.
