Hamrun Spartans will be making a return to European football after thirty years after defeating Birkirkara 1-0 in their final match from the BOV Premier League Top Six final round at the National Stadium on Saturday to secure third place.
The Spartans, who missed out on participation in the UEFA Champions League last summer following a decision by the UEFA Appeals Body, will therefore participate in the UEFA Europa Conference League along with Floriana and the winners of the Izibet FA Trophy.
Hamrun scored the all-important goal on the 14th minute when off a cross by Matteo Fedele from the right, Franklin Sasere slotted the ball past goalkeeper Daniel Fernandes, anticipating goalkeeper Daniel Fernandes and defender Enrico Pepe.
