Andrea Pisanu replaces Sanderra as new Hibernians coach

Hibernians have appointed Andrea Pisanu as their new cocah following the departure of Stefano Sanderra who will be joining the SS Lazio Primavera side.

A former player of Cagliari, Siena, Verona, Varese, Parma, Bologna, Prato, Montreal Impact and Sliema, Andrea Pisanu had stared his coaching career at Melita before joining Balzan as assistant coach in summer 2019 but in February 2020, he joined Sliema Wanderers as coach. He was removed from the post last February.

Stefano Sanderra had joined the Paolites in 2018, winning the Premier League title this season. Before moving to Malta, he coached L’Aquila, Isernia, Potenza, Frosinone, Tivoli, Cosenza, the Messina primavera side, Gela, Barletta, Cassino, Latina, Salernitana, Catanzaro, Viterbese, Sambenedettese and Racing Fondi. Sanderra and Hibernians had agreed to extend his contract for another two years but following an offer by Lazio to coach their Primavera side, the two parties reached an agreement over the termination of his contract.
