Draw in Tallinn puts Hibernians in third qualifying round

Hibernians secured a place in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League thanks to a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the second qualifying round at the A Le Coq Arena – Lillekula Stadium in Tallinn on Thursday for a 4-3 aggregate score.

This is the second time, the Paolites made it to the third qualifying round and ironically, their opponents were another team from Latvia – Riga FC. This time, Hibs will be facing FK Rigas Futbola Skola with the first leg scheduled to be played in Riga next week.

After missing a couple of good opportunities during the first half, Hibernians managed to take the lead on the 78th minute when off a Jurgen Degabriele corner from the left, Ferdinando Apap rose high to head home.

Levadia equalised a minute later when former Birkirkara striker Liliu gained possession on the right and served Karl Rudolf Oigus who tapped the ball home from close range.
