Malta international defender Zach Muscat will be playing for SC Farense in the Liga Portugal 2.
A product of Pietà Hotspurs, Muscat joined Birkirkara in 2012. His first experience abroad was with Akragas, joining them in January 2016. The following season, he moved to Arezzo where he spent two years, helping his team avoid relegation despite the club’s financial troubles. In 2018, he joined Pistoiese, signing a two-year deal but moved to SC Olhanense the following season. Muscat then moved to Casa Pia in 2020 with whom he won promotion to the top division.
Sporting Clube Farense are based in Faro in the district of the same name and the region of Algarve. Founded in 1910, the club will play the 2021–22 season in the Liga Portugal 2 after relegation from the Primeira Liga.
