Floriana hope to bounce back as they take on Birkirkara

After disappointing in a 2-2 draw with Sirens, Floriana will be hoping to bounce back as they take on Birkirkara in one of the four BOV Premier League matches in programme on Saturday. Balzan seek a third win as they face Gudja United, Valletta take on Sirens while Zebbug Rangers cross swords with Santa Lucia.

At the National Stadium, kick-off at 18:30, Birkirkara will be aiming to make it three wins out of three in the game against Floriana.

The Stripes defeated Sirens 2-0 and Zebbug 2-1 to claim maximum points from their first two outings. Floriana, on the other hand, defeated Pieta’ 2-0 but then only managed to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw with Sirens.

Both sides could have new faces in their starting line-up as Birkirkara signed Nemanja Radojevic while Kyrian Nwoko joined Floriana earlier this week.

At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 18:30, Balzan hope to make it three wins in a row as they face Gudja United.

Balzan defeated Zebbug 3-1 and Santa Lucia 2-0 while Gudja beat Mosta 2-1 and drew 3-3 with Gzira.

Both sides were strengthened on the deadline for the transfer window with Alexander Satariano joining Balzan from Frosinone and Karl Micallef joining Gudja from Hamrun Spartans.

At the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 18:30, Zebbug Rangers and Santa Lucia will be all out to register their first win in a clash between two teams who are chasing their first points.

Zebbug lost 1-3 to Balzan and 1-2 to Birkirkara while Santa Lucia suffered a 1-3 defeat to Gzira and a 0-2 defeat to Balzan.

Leandro Almeida will be back for Zebbug after serving a one-match ban.

At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 20:45, Valletta will be hoping to extend their positive run as they face Sirens.

The Citizens drew 1-1 with Hibernians, defeating Pieta’ 6-0 last week. On the other hand, Sirens lost 0-2 to Birkirkara but earned a point in a 2-2 draw with Floriana.

Valletta could have Flavio Cheveresan and Llywelyn Cremona making their debut while Stéphane Sessègnon could make his first appearance for Sirens. The St. Paul’s Bay side could not count on the suspended Alex Cini.
