Hamrun Spartans firm favourites to register second win

Following an impressive 4-1 win over Hibernians, Hamrun Spartans start as firm favourites to take the three points as they take on Pieta’ Hotspurs in one of the three BOV Premier League matches in programme on Sunday. Gzira United face Marsaxlokk while Mosta meet Hibernians in the other two matches.

At the National Stadium, kick-off at 18:30, Gzira United will be aiming at returning to winning ways as they take on Marsaxlokk.

The Maroons only managed to get a point in a 3-3 draw with Gudja United in their last outing following a 3-1 win over Santa Lucia on match-day 1. Newly-promoted Marsaxlokk, on the other hand, are eager to bounce back from the disappointing 1-4 defeat to Mosta in their first outing.

Gzira’s Luis Carlos Riascos and Marsaxlokk’s Santiago Adrian Ferraris are all ruled out through suspension.

At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 19:30, Mosta face Hibernians.

The Paolites are still chasing their first win following a 1-1 draw with Valletta and a heavy 1-4 defeat to Hamrun Spartans on Monday. The Blues, on the other hand, lost 1-2 to Gudja in their first game but bounced back with a 4-1 win over Marsaxlokk.

At the National Stadium, kick-off at 20:45, Hamrun Spartans take on Pieta’ Hotspurs.

The Spartans were in brilliant form on Monday as they crushed Hibernians 4-1 and eye maximum points from this first clash out of two in just four days as they will be in action once again against Marsaxlokk on Wednesday. The Hotspurs are still chasing their first point after a 0-2 defeat to Floriana and a 0-6 loss to Valletta last week.
