Sliema Wanderers registered their third win in as many matches in the BOV Challenge League as they defeated Qrendi 2-0 at the Victor Tedesco in one of three matches in programme on Tuesday.

Jean Carlos Cloth Goncalves put the Wanderers ahead on the 25th and Gabriel Aquilina doubled the score seven minutes in the second half.

With two goals in the second half, Naxxar Lions defeated Marsa 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium to register a second win. Erikys Ferreira put Naxxar ahead on the 66th and seven minutes later, Edson Cerqueira Farias doubled the score.

In another match at the Centenary Stadium, Zurrieq held Tarxien Rainbows in a 1-1 draw. Jeremy Busuttil put Zurrieq ahead on the 33rd but Ricardo Silva Faria rescued a point for Tarxien with a goal eleven minutes in the second half.

Sliema lead the way with 9 points, followed by Fgura, Zejtun and Naxxar on 6, Swieqi, Melita, Vittoriosa and Tarxien 4, Lija, San Gwann and Mqabba 3, Zurrieq 2, Mtarfa, St. Andrews, Marsa and Qrendi 1, Marsaskala and Attard 0.
