Ghaxaq qualified for the Round of 16 of the National Amateur Cup after defeating Rabat Ajax 3-2 after extra-time in a match from the Preliminary Round at the Sirens Stadium on Monday.
Calvin Grech put the Magpies ahead after just three minutes but Ryden Gatt equalised on the 32nd and then handed Ghaxaq the lead ten minutes in the second half. Kane Micallef levelled matters two minutes from time to force extra-time but one minute from the end of the second half of extra-time, Dusan Petrovic made it 3-2 for Ghaxaq.
In the next round, Ghaxaq will be facing Zabbar St. Patrick.
