Friendly match for Futsal national team against Estonia

The Malta Futsal Team will be in action away from home next week as they lock horns with Estonia in a friendly international fixture to be played in Tallinn on Friday 23rd September, kick-off at 16:00h.

The event will coincide with the National Football Team also in action in Estonia and on the same day in a very important UEFA Nations League fixture against the home side.

Back to the Malta Futsal Team as 20 players have been selected in total by coach Zeljko Anicic in this provisional squad for this upcoming friendly fixture against Estonia.

An initial squad containing four keepers in total, Clint Mifsud, Dylan Cacciattolo, Brendon Debono, and Matthias Borg.

Sixteen outfield players with a mixture of experience and youth made up of Karl Sciortino, Giancarlo Sammut, Andre Ciancio, Steven Camilleri, Jean-Noel Azzopardi, Cleaven Portelli, Matthew Attard, Dale Valletta, Luke Gatt, Ryan Muscat, Andrew Abela, Andrew Cachia, Nathan Balzan, Shiraz Attard, Colin Sammut, and Ivin Gatt.

Useful to point out that in this provisional selection, a total of five players from the U19 squad have stepped up into the squad for the first time.

This is all part of the pathway and strategy the Association is trying to implement and push forward for the long term future of Futsal, on top of all the Malta Futsal Team.

The provisional squad is scheduled to convene over the weekend for a few days of training on home ground before flying to Tallinn on Thursday next week.
