Birkirkara will be all out to claim the three points on Sunday as they take on Valletta in one of the three BOV Premier League matches in programme in order to re-join Hamrun Spartans on top. Gzira United face Pieta’ Hotspurs and Balzan take on Hibernians in the other two matches.
At the National Stadium, kick-off at 15:00, Birkirkara face Valletta.
The Stripes claimed maximum points from the first four matches, defeating Sirens, Zebbug Rangers, Floriana and Santa Lucia, scoring nine goals and conceding just one. Valletta, on the other hand, are currently eighth on five points after holding Hibernians in a draw, defeating Pieta’, being held in a draw by Sirens and losing to rivals Floriana.
At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 16:00, Gzira United take on Pieta’ Hotspurs.
The Maroons are still unbeaten but dropped four points in two draws. They defeated Santa Lucia in their first outing but following draws with Gudja and Marsaxlokk, they beat Hibernians 2-1 in their last game. The Hotspurs, on the other hand, lost their first four matches to Floriana, Valletta, Hamrun and Mosta, conceding no less than fourteen goals in the process.
At the National Stadium, kick-off at 17:15, Balzan face Hibernians.
Balzan are currently fourth on nine points, following wins over Zebbug, Santa Lucia and Marsaxlokk, losing narrowly to Gudja. Hibernians, on the other hand, lost two out of their first four matches against Hamrun and Gzira, earning a point in a draw with Valletta and defeating Mosta in the other game.
