Joint-leaders Birkirkara and Hamrun Spartans will be all out to maintain their perfect record as they take on Gudja United and Valletta in two of the four BOV Premier League matches in programme on Saturday. Marsaxlokk face Santa Lucia and Floriana take on Mosta in the other two matches.
At the National Stadium, kick-off at 15:00, all eyes will be on Valletta and Hamrun as the Citizens will try to upset their rivals.
Hamrun claimed maximum points from the first five matches, scoring eleven goals and conceding one and are coming from a 2-0 win over Floriana Valletta, on the other hand, are currently ninth after suffering back-to-back defeats to Floriana and Birkirkara.
At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 15:00, Marsaxlokk face Santa Lucia.
The Southseasiders registered their first win last week as they defeated fellow newly-promoted side Zebbug Rangers 3-0 to move on to the four-point mark after holding Gzira United in a goalless draw last month. Santa Lucia, on the other hand, still eye their first points after losing their first five matches, including the 1-3 defeat to Gudja on Saturday.

Lying just two points behind the two joint-leaders, Gudja dropped their only points in a draw with Gzira United, winning the other four matches, beating Santa Lucia 3-1 last week. Birkirkara, on the other hand, registered five wins in as many matches, scoring twelve and conceding just one in the process, defeating Valletta 3-0 in their last outing.

The season has been quite disappointing so far for the Greens as they collected just seven points from the first five matches although their two defeats were against the two joint-leaders, including last week’s 0-2 defeat to Hamrun. The Blues, on the other hand, share the seventh place with the Greens and are coming from a win over Pieta’ and a draw with Sirens.
