Gilbert Agius will be serving as interim national A team coach for the friendly matches being played later this month against Greece and Ireland.
This was announced by MFA President Bjorn Vassallo during the General Assembly of the Malta Football Association which was held on Tuesday.
Vassallo said that Agius, who is currently the coach of the Malta Under-21 national team, will be leading the team for these two matches.
Agius will be assisted by Davide Mazzotta and Alessandro Zinnari. Zinnari, who was serving as national teams co-ordinator, was promoted to assistant national coach following the departure of Guillermo Giacomazzi who left the association to join Spal in Italy.
The MFA President said that after these games, the association will focus on the appointment of a new national coach which would be leading the national team as from the European Qualifiers kicking-off in March.
Malta plays Greece on Thursday November 17 and Ireland on Sunday November 20.
