Italian giants Inter and Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg will play friendly matches with the participation of the club from the Maltese Premier League Gżira United between the 4th and the 9th of December.
On December 5 at 18:00, Inter will play against Gzira United while on December 7 at 18:00, Inter will play against Red Bull Salzburg. These matches will be played at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
Details were announced in a news conference by the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo, the Chief Executive of the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) Carlo Micallef and Helmut Amhof on behalf of the organizers of these events.

Minister Clayton Bartolo stressed that this tournament is another opportunity for Malta to continue to strengthen its potential in the sports tourism niche. “We all know that football has enormous potential to reach millions of people and that is why we are aspiring that through this tournament and many similar initiatives in the coming weeks and months through VisitMalta. We will continue to strengthen our reputation as a hospitable country in the world of football,”
MTA CEO Carlo Micallef said how an event like this, where you have two teams of international stature that choose to visit our country for a training camp, is another opportunity for the MTA to give visibility to the brand of VisitMalta throughout Europe and beyond, as there will be a presence of Italian and Austrian media organizations with viewers from all over the world.
Meanwhile Helmut Amhof said that “This tournament goes hand in hand with the ambition of the organizers that the Maltese Islands become the natural choice for football teams that want to hold training camps or friendly games right here in Malta.”
