Balzan returned to winning ways as a goal by Milos Zlatkovic handed them a narrow win over Gzira United at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.
This win enables Oliver Spiteri’s side to join Mosta and Gudja United on the 17 points mark in sixth place. The Maroons, on the other hand, missed an excellent opportunity to close in on leaders Hamrun Spartans following the latter’s defeat to Zebbug last week. For Gzira, this was the second defeat in four matches, now falling into third place two point behind Hibernians.
Balzan scored the all-important goal on the half hour when of a freekick by Aleksa Andrejic, Milos Zlatkovic hit home in style past goalkeeper Darijan Radelic Zarkov from close range.
