Senglea Athletic regained the top spot in Group A of the Izibet Amateur League as they defeated Zabbar St. Patrick in a top-of-the-table clash at the Centenary Stadium on Monday. Senglea, however, played a game more than the rest of the teams.
Dion Fava put Zabbar ahead on the 23rd but Timothy Thomas levelled matters on the 63rd and notched the winner five minutes later.
Senglea lead the way with 25 points, followed by Zabbar on 24, Mgarr 22, Kalkara 17, Birzebbuga 13, Qormi 12, Xghajra 11, Sta. Venera 10, Mellieha and Pembroke 6 and Ta’ Xbiex 0.
