Balzan came back from a goal down to beat Santa Lucia 3-1 at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Oliver Spiteri’s side therefore joins Mosta in seventh place on 23 points, one behind Gudja and two behind Floriana. Santa Lucia, on the other hand, remain second from bottom.
Santa Lucia took the lead on the 14th minute when new signing Robert Hehedosh concluded a good move on the right with a shot which hit the foot of the upright and off the rebound, Francesco
Eliomar Rodrigues headed the ball home.
Balzan equalised six minutes later thanks to Bojan Kaljevic, served on the right by Alexander Satariano, beating Matthew Calleja Cremona with a powerful shot on the near post.
Four minutes from the end of the first half, Balzan went 2-1 ahead as Diego Pacheco lost the ball to Bojan Kaljevic who advanced into the area before serving Angel Torres who slotted the ball past the helpless Calleja Cremona.

However, Balzan sealed the issue with a third goal on the 68th minute thanks to another goal by Angel Torres who hit the ball home past Calleja Cremona following an assist by Alex Satariano from the right.
Alexander Satariano could have added another eleven minutes from time but his attempt hit the upright when served by Bogdan Mladenovic on the right.
