Msida St. Joseph moved back on top of Group B of the Izibet Amateur League as they were awarded the three points following a protest they had filed against the result of the match against St. George’s which was played on January 6 and which had ended in a goalless draw.
Msida had argued that Andrea Mizzi was ineligible to play as his registration was submitted after midnight on January 5 when according to MFA regulations, players had to be duly submitted into COMET by midnight of the day preceding the last working day prior to a match.
Thanks to these three points, Msida now lead the way with 24 points, followed by Rabat on 23, Luqa and Gharghur 21, Kirkop 17, St. George’s 16, Ghaxaq 14, Siggiewi 8, Dingli 5 and Mdina 4
