San Gwann earned three precious points in the battle against relegation as they defeated Lija Athletic 2-0 in a match from the BOV Challenge League at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Wednesday.

Reon Saito put San Gwann ahead eleven minutes in the second half and Tobi Akiti doubled the score eleven minutes later.

Fgura and Swieqi lead the way with 34 points, followed by St. Andrews on 32, Lija 29, Marsa 27, Attard 26, Qrendi 24, San Gwann 23, Mqabba 21, Marsaskala 20, Vittoriosa 17 and Mtarfa 16.
