Women’s Under-19 side loses to Faroe Islands after having a player sent off

The Malta women’s Under-19 side lost 2-4 to the Faroe Islands in the second match from Group B4 of the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship Round 2 League B at the City Stadium in Abovyan, Armenia on Friday.

Malena Olsen put the Faroe Islands ahead on the 39th minute but despite having Sarah Vella Barberi sent off after receiving a second yellow card nine minutes in the second half, Michela Rose Ionadi levelled matters on the 69th and Sara Saliba made it 2-1 on the 76th.

However Lisa Haraldsen restored equilibrium on the 81st and three minutes later, the same player made it 3-2 for the Faroe Islands. Two minutes from time, Anna Carolina Braendstrup sealed the issue with a fourth goal for the Faroe Islands.
