Floriana and Gudja United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Tony Bezzina Stadium in a clash between two teams in a comfortable mid-table position.
Gianluca Atzori’s side therefore retained a five point lead over Gudja who were coming from three consecutive defeats.
The Greens took the lead on the 7th minute when off a cross by Lorenzo Trillo, Mattia Veselji hit home past goalkeeper Glenn Zammit.
Floriana, however, were reduced to ten men after goalkeeper Duncan Formosa was sent off after handling the ball outside the area on the 59 minute.
Gudja took advantage of this sending-off as six minutes later, Farid Romero Zuniga hit home off a corner by Nicolas Navarrete.
