Rabat Ajax and Kalkara United secured a place in Round 3 of the Izibet Amateur League Promotion Play-Offs as they both registered wins on Wednesday.
Rabat defeated Xghajra Tornados 2-0 thanks to goals by Andy Paul Camilleri on the 22nd and Miguel Aquilina five minutes in added time.
On the other hand, Kalkara United beat St. George’s 2-1. David Azzopardi put Kalkara ahead on the 57th and three minutes later, Vadim Gulceac doubled the score. Nicholas Zammit pulled one back six minutes from time.
On Saturday, Kalkara face Gharghur while Rabat take on Zabbar. The third round between the winners of these two matches will be played on Wednesday 19.
In the Play-Offs final, the winner of the third round will face the loser of the Promotion Decider between Mgarr United and Luqa St. Andrew’s on Sunday 23.

The Championship Decider between Senglea Athletic and Msida St. Joseph will be played on Sunday 16 at the Centenary Stadium at 11:30 while the Promotion Decider between Mgarr United and Luqa St. Andrew’s is scheduled for Sunday 16 at the Sirens Stadium, kick-off at 15:00.
