Hamrun Spartans appoint Luciano Zauri as their new coach

Hamrun Spartans have appointed Luciano Zauri as their new coach. The forty-five year old replaces Branko Nisevic who has just led the Spartans to their ninth championship title.

A former player of Atalanta, Chievo, Lazio, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Pescara and the Italian senior, Under-21, Under-18 and Under-17 teams, Zauri started his coaching career at Pescara, leading various teams in the club’s youth sector.

Zauri was appointed coach of Pescara in season 2019/20 in the Serie B but he stepped down in January 2020 when the team was lying in tenth place. Following a spell with the Bologna primavera side, he re-joined Pescara in April 2022, leading the club in the Serie C until the end of the season.
