Luxol St Andrew’s and University of Malta joined Żurrieq Futsal and Ta’ Xbiex in the semi-finals of the E & L Futsal Trophy after convincingly winning their respective matches.

Luxol defeated rivals Swieqi United 6-1. The champions turned the score in their favour after finding themselves 1-0 down with the second half which was exceptional for them and where they dominated it from start to finish.

Ryan Muscat put Swieqi ahead but Mark Zammit equalized for Gabriel Dobre’s boys. In the second half, Victor Oliveira Dias, Andre Ciancio, Jhonn Castro and a double by Andy Mangion also put their names on the score sheet.

Holders University of Malta beat Challenger League champions St George’s 6-0. The holders made their intentions clear right from the start and built a good lead in order to manage the game in the best possible way. Andre Cachia scored a personal double while Aaron Montebello, Leo Muscat, Cleaven Portelli and Jean Noel Azzopardi added their names among the scorers.

In the semi-finals, Luxol face Żurrieq while the University of Malta play against Ta’ Xbiex.
