UEFA Under-19 EURO: Winning start for Portugal

Portugal claimed their first three points in Group A of the UEFA Under-19 Championship finals as they defeated Poland 2-0 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Monday.

Joaquim Milheiro’s side had a perfect start, taking the lead after just four minutes courtesy of a Gabriel Bras header off a Hugo Felix freekick.

On the hour, Portugal sealed the issue with a second goal. Hugo Felix snatched a loose ball, before sending a defender the wrong way and firing in off the post, leaving Polish goalkeeper Zych no chance.

On Thursday, Portugal face Italy at 18:00 while Poland take on Malta at 21:15. Both matches will be played at the Centenary Stadium.
