Malta international defender Cain Attard joined Liga Portugal 2 side OS Belenenses.

Attard, who is twenty eight years old, joins the club from Birkirkara where he spent the last eight years.

He started his football career at the Melita nursery before joining Pieta’ Hotspurs with whom he also made his Premier League debut in season 2014/15.

OS Belenenses will be playing in the Liga Portugal 2 after finishing as runners-up in the Liga 3 last season.

At the end of season 2017/18, CF OS Belenenses and its professional football section, Belenenses SAD, went their separate ways and while Belenenses SAD continued playing in the Primeira Liga, CF OS Belenenses registered an amateur team in 1ª Divisão Distrital de Lisboa, the sixth division in Portuguese football.

However after winning three promotions in four years, last season, they won Group 2 of the Liga 3 Promotion Pool, losing the championship decider to Uniao de Leiria
