Newly-promoted Sliema Wanderers signed Brazilian twenty-five year old central defender Gustavo Alcino.

Alcino started his career at Avai FC and later played for Inter de Lages before moving to Portgual to join Portimonense. He had a spell on loan with Marinhense but later returned to Brazil to re-join Avai. Alcino spent last year with Castanhal first and Operario later. Last February, he was loaned to Votuporanguense.

The Wanderers had earlier signed Samuel Gomes da Mata and Jean Borg.
