The Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio announced that Italy coach Roberto Mancini has stepped down from the post. Mancini submitted his resignation on Saturday evening.

The FIGC added that since Italy will be playing two matches from Group C of the European Qualifiers against North Macedonia on September 9 and Ukraine three days later, it will be announcing the name of the new coach in the coming days.

Italy hosts Malta on October 14 at the Stadio San Nicola in Bari.
